I’m usually attracted to comics because they are visually appealing, but C&H attracted me because it’s sometimes so fucking stupid. The comic is capable of these wonderful nuggets of insight and reflection, but it usually just shrugs that yoke off for rape jokes and fart humor. The critical difference here is that C&H tells this jokes in such an innocent and sweet manner. The characters seem so genuinely nonchalant that you don’t feel bad about laughing at the depraved circumstances. The simple characters, which evolved from the Stick Death series, help complete the beautiful effect.

I play a game whenever I read a new PBF strip. I put my hand over the second and third panels and try to deduce from the first one what’s going to happen. Because It only comes out once a week, I love playing this game and am pleased to say that nine times out of ten I’m surprised with the outcome.
I enjoy PBF because the artistry is so perfectly fluid. Most humans in it are drawn sparsely, but some animals and the Schlorbians are draw with deep lines and great care. I also love the colors, which remind me slightly of the covers of
Highlights for Children. The humor is sometimes wicked, sometimes sweet and often times visually punny. I love PBF because there’s always something new and exciting to it; most characters you’ll only see once, and the time you
spend with them is fleeting and bittersweet. And the titties on the chicks look good, too.

I don't feel tardy.
